AmKeny is dedicated to empowering communities through Education, Health, and Sustainable Development. Our team is committed to making a positive impact by fostering partnerships that promote Economic Growth, Primary Health, and Social Equity.
We do this by creating partnerships between individuals in the United States of America and Kenya. A team consisting of parties from both countries comes together to plan and undertake a charity event that benefits one or more low-income communities in Kenya.
The charity event may be a medical camp, an educational/training event, or any other event with positive social outcomes.
Partners in the US get an opportunity to visit beautiful Kenya to do good by participating as volunteers at these charity events. At the end of the event, those who wish can participate in a Safari or any other enjoyable travel of their choosing. We ask that they pay their expenses and also donate to offset the cost of the charity event they are participating in.
Partners from Kenya offer their professional skills and/or time as a contribution to the charity event. They help with local and on-the-ground coordination. This provides them with an opportunity to contribute to their community and country.
In fact, the name AmKeny comes from combining the words America and Kenya. It is also pronounced like the Swahili word amkeni, which means Arise!
