OUR HISTORY

AmKeny began in 2011 when a small team of U.S. students and Kenyan healthcare providers hosted a medical camp in Nakuru, serving over 1,200 patients in just four days. The impact led to the formal founding of AmKeny.

By 2016, the mission expanded to Elburgon and Machakos, reaching 2,000 patients with medical, dental, vision, and cancer care, while also supporting children’s homes.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AmKeny partnered with local nonprofits to ensure underserved communities continued receiving essential services.

In Zambia, the organization supported training for Clinical Officers by donating books and iPads, strengthening healthcare education.

In 2024, AmKeny partnered with the Deborah Ladies in Kitale to support over 100 women and families monthly with food, clothing, emotional care, and faith-centered community.

Today, AmKeny continues to “arise” (amkeni)—bringing hope, healthcare, and transformation across communities.
